An Alaskan received national recognition for her life’s work – in Washington D.C. on Monday.
Sealaska Heritage Institute (SHI) President Rosita Worl, Ph. D., was one of only 10 recipients of the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Medal, bestowed upon her by President Joe Biden.
According to NEH, the medal is awarded to an individual or organization “whose work has deepened the nation‘s understanding of the human experience, broadened citizen engagement with history and literature or helped preserve and expand Americans’ access to cultural resources.”
