Actor Joseph Marco is embracing a fresh start as he officially joins Viva Artists Agency (VAA), marking a pivotal moment in his 18-year career.
At the contract signing held Tuesday, July 8, the seasoned actor expressed excitement over his new partnership with Viva and reflected on a near life-changing decision: walking away from showbiz.
“I almost quit showbiz actually,” Joseph candidly shared with LionhearTV and selected entertainment media. “I just felt, like, what’s new? I keep on doing the same thing. And for some reason, when I stopped and just looked at everything from afar, I saw how grateful I am.”
The turning point, he revealed, came during a guest appearance on ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ three months ago. “I really thought my passion for acting is gone. But when I did it, when I was on set and I was acting, I told myself, ‘I was born to do this.’ It’s challenging but it felt so natural. Alam mo sa sarili mo na okay ito, gamay ko ito. Parang feeling mo, hawak mo yung ginagawa mo — and yeah, na-miss ko talaga.”
Now more determined than ever, Joseph says he’s fired up to pursue new roles and sharpen his craft. “I’m so ready to work again. I’m actually preparing right now for a new project and also, I am studying acting.”
After 15 years under Star Magic and longtime mentor Keren Pascual, Joseph decided to make the bold move to Viva in 2025. “It’s a new chapter,” he said during the press conference. “This year marks my 18th year in the industry. Looking back, I started as a model… didn’t know anything about acting. But through time, roles, and hard work, I’ve come a long way.”
Joseph’s impressive resume includes award-winning films like ‘Saturday Night Chills’, hit teleseryes like ‘Wildflower’ and ‘Los Bastardos’, and successful movie projects such as ‘Talk Back and You’re Dead’, ‘The Missing’, and ‘Kunwari Mahal Kita’.
Now as an official Ka-Viva, he’s set to star in an upcoming Viva One show, alongside some of the agency’s rising young stars. Many fans are also hoping to see him join the highly anticipated University Series.
Joseph wrapped his speech with a sense of renewed purpose: “Success happens when preparation meets opportunity. The more I prepare, the more I grow, the more I succeed. I’m ready for whatever’s to come.”
