Stroud artists to showcase installation at Crafts Alive 2025

The event, which runs from September 10 to September 14 at Rodmarton Manor, will feature a site-specific installation titled BLOOM.

This is composed of work by 17 artists from the studio, with pieces centred around the festival’s theme of ‘Flowers and the Maker.’

A representative from Victoria Works Studios said: “Much of the work the artists are making seeks to conjure these hidden lives, bringing them into the spotlight and asking us to consider how they bloomed within these walls.”

Guests can view the installation in the manor’s atmospheric attic room.

It is designed to reflect the history and presence of those who worked and lived in the house, with a view of the garden and the landscape beyond.

The studio is also getting ready for Chalfest on July 19, where they will set up the ‘Making Marquee’ for visitors to try different crafts.

They will also be hosting various workshops throughout the summer and autumn, including a still life painting weekend and a fashion upcycling session.

Jane Wright, from studio 13, will be holding her graduate exhibition at The Yard Gallery, Withey’s Yard Stroud, from July 17 to July 19.

She will be showcasing her work, including an installation called Dream-time, which features contemporary lace works.
