Street artists The Postman are partnering with a charity to create a mural around a new NHS cancer centre.
The anonymous duo, known for their striking pop art murals, have joined forces with My Charity University Hospitals Sussex for this unique project.
The mural is being created around the multi-million pound cancer centre, which is currently being built on Eastern Road, Brighton.
The work is due to be unveiled this autumn.

“We’re creating our largest mural ever—over 50 individual panels spanning approximately 60 metres of original, large-scale artwork.
“It’s an honour to contribute to such a forward-thinking initiative.
“As Brighton develops its New Sussex Cancer Centre (NSCC) as part of the Royal Sussex Hospital, there’s a clear focus on creating not just a cutting-edge medical facility, but a healing environment—filled with light, colour, and creativity.
“This project presents an exciting creative shift for us—moving away from our usual icon-based work to a nature-inspired theme we’ve been gradually exploring over the past few years.
“We believe art has the power to positively impact mental wellbeing, and by focusing on colour, joy, and emotional connection, we hope this mural brings a moment of uplift and positivity to everyone who passes by.”
The mural will be sold off, piece by piece, to raise funds for the charity.
Limited edition prints and merchandise will also be sold.
Steve Crump OBE, director of charities and voluntary services at My Charity, University Hospitals Sussex, NHS Foundation Trust, said: “At My Charity we’re delighted to be working with The Postman on this once in a lifetime venture that will see their iconic art used to both transform space and raise vital funds for University Hospitals Sussex.”
The New NHS Sussex Cancer Centre is set to open in 2029 and will be almost five times larger than the current facility.
The unveiling of The Postman’s mural this autumn is expected to be a monumental event for Brighton and the wider healthcare community in Sussex.
The Postman has adorned urban spaces worldwide with their pop art murals since their inception in 2018.
They have created public artworks for councils, and commissions for notable figures such as Noel Gallagher and the Bob Marley Foundation.
Their work has been showcased in galleries across the globe, including the Saatchi Gallery in London.
The duo are remaining busy over the summer period.
From August 27 to 31, they will be taking over Brighton’s most exciting new venue—The British Engineerium—for a large-scale art show presented by Pepita Coffee and Fatboy Slim.
The exhibition will showcase an exclusive collection of new works and celebrate the launch of a brand-new range of coffee tins designed by The Postman.
