Nominations open for lifetime achievement awards by Clarksville Arts and Heritage Council


The Clarksville Arts & Heritage Council (AHC) is now accepting nominations for its Lifetime Achievement Awards.

CLARKSVILLE, TN − Do you know someone whose dedication to the arts or local history has shaped the cultural fabric of Clarksville and Montgomery County? The Clarksville Arts and Heritage Council (AHC) is now accepting nominations for its Lifetime Achievement Awards − recognizing extraordinary individuals who have made a lasting impact on our community’s creative and historic legacy.

Established in 2006, these annual awards celebrate individuals who have contributed significantly, over many years, to the artistic or historical life of Montgomery County. Two awards are presented each year at AHC’s Annual Membership Meeting:

  • Lifetime Achievement in the Arts
  • Lifetime Achievement in Heritage

“These awards are a way of honoring those who have spent their lives enriching ours—through creativity, preservation, and education,” AHC Board Chairperson Kay Drew noted.

Eligibility and criteria

Nominees must be current or past residents of Montgomery County or have strong personal or
professional ties to the area. Nominees may be individuals or pairs who have partnered on a
project and must have demonstrated a long-term impact in their area of contribution.

Lifetime Achievement in the Arts

Honors artists, scholars, patrons, or advocates who have:

  • Enriched Clarksville-Montgomery County’s artistic and cultural life
  • Promoted excellence and public appreciation in the arts
  • Helped expand access to the arts throughout the community

Lifetime Achievement in Heritage

Recognizes individuals who have:

  • Preserved or deepened understanding of Montgomery County’s unique history
  •  Led efforts in historical education or commemoration
  • Worked to honor and document the lives and contributions of earlier residents

How to nominate

Nominations may be submitted by individuals, businesses, or organizations located in Montgomery County. Self-nominations will not be accepted.

To nominate an individual (or a pair of individuals who collaborated on a project), complete the AHC Lifetime Achievement Award Nomination Form and submit by Monday, September 1st.

Only one nomination per nominee per award cycle will be accepted.

Deadline: Nominations must be submitted by Monday, Sept. 1.
