Paintings celebrating Hampstead Heath feature in park show

A total of 120 artworks are on show at the Regent’s Park Gallery in Primrose Hill, offering a visual journey through green spaces across the capital.

Titled Parkscapes, the exhibition includes traditional and modern works by both established and emerging artists.

A spokesman for the gallery said: “A joyful feast for the eyes, parks and paintings connect us to nature and to our deeper selves and in their spaces we breathe more lightly.”

The collection features scenes from parks across London, including Regent’s Park, Hampstead Heath, Peckham, Battersea and Richmond.

Nicholas Cochrane, co-founder and principal of Hampstead Fine Arts College for 16 years, is among the artists featured.

The works are available for purchase, with prices ranging from £50 to £5,000.

Visitors can simply drop in during opening hours, with no booking required and dogs welcome.

The gallery also offers free parking at weekends and after 6pm.

For those unable to visit in person, the exhibition continues online, with additional works added regularly.

Art lovers can browse by location or even commission a bespoke piece through the gallery’s website.

The gallery, located at 17 Princess Road, is open Monday, and Wednesday to Friday from 12pm to 7pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 6pm.

It is closed on Tuesdays.

One visitor from Japan, Fumiko, described the art as moving. He said: “The paintings were all wonderful, revealing the folds of the heart…gave me moments of true peace and joy,”

Regent’s Park Gallery was transformed from an abandoned restaurant in April, after art teacher and Primrose Hill resident of 25 years Sophie Levi decided to turn the former La Collina Italian restaurant into an exhibition space.

The Parkscapes exhibition runs until Thursday, December 18, 2025.

More information is available at regentsparkgallery.com.

Works can also be purchased and arranged for collection or delivery through the website.
