Wild Nature exhibition opens at Durlston Country Park

Titled Wild Nature, the solo show by Devon-based artist Lisa Parkyn is now on display at the Fine Foundation Gallery at Durlston Country Park and runs until Wednesday, April 8.

Featuring layered mixed media works inspired by wild seascapes, landscapes and florals, the exhibition includes new pieces influenced by the park’s wildflower meadows.

Shannon Dugdale from Durlston Country Park said: “This exhibition is truly beautiful and a perfect fit for the arrival of spring, with its striking colours and appreciation to the natural world.

“You can see the time and skill in every piece on show.”

Ms Parkyn, who grew up on a remote farm in the Kalahari semi-desert in Botswana, comes from a family of painters and began exploring art at an early age before later studying graphic design in South Africa and London.

She is now known for her expressive mark-making, bold use of colour and unique interpretation of the sensory experience of the landscape.

The exhibition is free to enter and open daily from 10.30am to 4.30pm.

Original works, prints and cards will be available for purchase.
