There are a number of exciting events planned for Nenagh a part of National Heritage Week, which will take place throughout the month of August.
Sunflower Exhibition for Ukrainian Independence
The Sunflower Exhibition holds special significance and is connected to Ukraine’s Independence Day as it symbolises resilience, hope, and cultural identity. This event is free and will run from August 1 until August 29.

The launch of this exhibition will take place on Tuesday August 5 at 6pm and a special gathering will take place on Thursday August 21 at 3pm.
Embroidery Hoop Art
A five-Day Children’s Workshop will run from Monday August 11 until Friday August 15 at 10:30am – 12:45pm.

Join mixed-media artist Ellie Cullen for a fun and creative five-day embroidery workshop designed especially for children!
No previous embroidery experience is needed – just a love for art and imagination. Cost is €120 per child.
Needle Felting Workshop with Wendy Austin-Rawlings
In this class, you will learn the basics about the tools used, different types of wool and the techniques of turning wool roving into usable shapes. This class is free and will take place on Monday August 18 at 10am.
Drawing on History
This Nenagh Castle Sketching Workshop lets participants join local artist, Seán Ferry, as they look to Nenagh Castle as their subject and inspiration. This event is free and take place on Wednesday August 20 at 1pm.
The Last Witch Bridget Cleary
Presented as part of Heritage Week, this one-woman show is based on the true story of Bridget Cleary, a young woman from Tipperary who was burned by her husband in 1895 under the belief that she was a fairy changeling.
Tickets cost €15 and the event is on Friday August 22 at 7:30pm.
