Art exhibition featuring works by 10 female artists

AN ART exhibition celebrating the work and experiences of ten female artists is running in Boscombe until the end of August.

You’re Not Alone: Women in Art 2025 is open Thursday to Sunday, 11am to 5pm, at the Boscombe Arts Depot, and will run until Sunday, August 31.

The exhibition features work by ten visual artists from the South and South West of England, Mahila Amatina, Kate Bradbury, Ann Churchill, Yvonne Mabs Francis, Sarah Jane Hender, Delaine Le Bas, Kim Noble, Elinor Rowlands, Patricia Shrigley and Kwaga Sillingi.

It highlights the artists’ diverse journeys, many of them outside formal education and traditional art world structures.

The collection includes painting, drawing, textiles and installations created by self-taught, working class, learning disabled and neurodivergent artists, as well as women who feel excluded by systemic barriers in the industry.

Alongside the exhibition, organisers are running an events programme with artist talks and weekly family creative workshops, held every Sunday from 2pm to 4pm.

All materials are provided and participants can take their artwork home.

The exhibition is organised by BEAF Arts Co, an open-access, multi-art form festival and year round arts programme based on the south coast in Boscombe, Bournemouth.
