THE highlands of Baguio will once again become a sanctuary for introspection and artistic expression as the exhibition “Mist and Memory: A Mountain’s Palette” opens at Tam-Awan Gallery.
It features Filipino artists Roy Espinosa, Roland Rosacay, Aris Bagtas, Manny Sinquenco, Jose Hombrebueno, Dale Bagtas, Al Vargas, Doodz Iligan, Anthonie Genosa, Batilyo, Espie Bagtas, Irma Espinosa, Em Em Malaluan Santos, Yan Tamayo, Airon Bagtas, Audrey Dones Gorriceta, Euri Bagtas, Pauline Allison Espinosa, Jonet Carpio, Ronaldo Ruiz, Centeno, Leo Santos, and Ará.
Inspired by Baguio’s mist-covered mornings and its quiet emotional resonance, the exhibition presents paintings, sketches, and mixed media pieces that evoke the ephemeral beauty of recollection. Each artwork becomes a vessel, carrying fragments of personal histories, cultural echoes, and silent reflections.
“Through expressive strokes and muted hues, each piece whispers stories of solitude, heritage, and quiet introspection,” says Espinosa, curator of the exhibition. “We wanted to honor Baguio not just as a place but as a feeling — a mountain of memory where art becomes both mirror and mist.”
The exhibition will run from Aug. 16 to Sept. 4, 2025 at Tam-Awan Gallery, with an opening reception on Aug. 6 at 4 p.m. Guests are invited to meet the artists, engage in dialogue, and experience the emotional depth of the works firsthand.
