Spotify wants music artists to ‘Get Ready for 2024 Wrapped’


Goodness, is it that time again? It most certainly is. Spotify is preparing for its annual end-of-year ‘Wrapped’ promotion, and yesterday the call went out to artists to make their own preparations too.

There’s a ‘Get Ready for 2024 Wrapped’ landing page outlining the steps Spotify wants artist to take, as well as nudging them with the stat that 225 million listeners in 170 countries engaged with the promo in 2023. That was just over 37% of Spotify’s 602 million monthly active users at the end of that year, which – given its heavy promotion – makes you wonder how the other 73% dodged it.

But anyway, artists are being encouraged to record a 30-second clip that can be shown to their top fans; to make sure their profiles are updated in terms of merch, fan support links and artist-pick playlists; update any tour dates and start countdown pages for any early-2025 releases. The deadline to have the clips uploaded is 15 November.
