Paintings of Ukraine war to go on show in Crouch End

Works by artist Laura Lehman Kochan are on display at 54 The Gallery in Shepherd Market, off Curzon Street, in Mayfair.

Originally from Philadelphia and now based in Crouch End, Ms Kochan draws inspiration from her travels and personal experiences to create paintings filled with emotion and narrative.

Her latest exhibition includes a range of her work, exploring people and places that have shaped her artistic journey.

She said: “My pictures of places are filled with my feelings about a country’s history, its stories and its people. My pictures of Ukraine speak for themselves.”

Ms Kochan’s work often dwells on the marks left by history on cities and buildings, aiming to capture the atmosphere shaped by events and time.

Though her earlier works have featured locations in China and Italy, this exhibition includes paintings and drawings of Ukraine alongside works from China and Italy.

Ms Kochan said: “My current exhibition at 54 The Gallery contains a very broad range of pictures of people and places who have moved me to express myself and dream. I am an incorrigible dreamer.”

The exhibition is open to the public between February 10 and 15.
